I-90 Thruway Rest Stops: Pattersonville Highlight

MZ Construction took on the renovation of the Pattersonville Rest Area as part of the NYS Thruway’s I-90 improvement initiative. This project balanced modern upgrades with a respect for original features, including the iconic wood ceilings in the entryway. Covering framing, drywall, and the installation of acoustical USG ceiling panels, our team aimed to create a welcoming and functional space for travelers.

MZ’s use of digital layouts streamlined the project by minimizing on-site adjustments and maximizing precision. Key materials, such as CertainTeed’s GlasRoc Tile Backer, were chosen for moisture resistance and fire protection, ensuring that this high-traffic area is built to last.

The project stages began with framing the truckers' lounge, shaping it into a comfortable, dedicated area. Throughout each phase, MZ coordinated closely with subcontractors to manage overlapping tasks and maintain efficient progress.

Crew Shoutouts

Foreman Frank Sultan and Head of Field Robert Ryan led the way, with essential support from team members like Roy Andrilla, Randy Stahl, Brad Griffith, and Scott Peebles, who played a crucial role in the quality of the doors, hardware, and ceiling installations.
