Bridgeport Elementary School

Location: Bridgeport, NY

Project Overview

MZ Construction was proud to partner with Diamond and Thiel on interior renovations at Bridgeport Elementary School, a project that brought modern function and fresh finishes to key areas of the facility. Our scope included full office buildouts with new framing and drywall, as well as acoustical ceiling installations throughout the cafeteria, kitchen, corridors, and vestibule.

Team Leadership

This project was led in the field by Foremen Scott Peebles and Joe Carr, with Project Manager Derik Gibbs overseeing coordination and delivery. Together, they managed a complex, occupied-site environment with precision and professionalism.

Occupied Site Experience

Working within an active school setting required careful planning and attention to detail. Our team navigated several workdays with faculty and students on site, maintaining strict safety standards and cleanliness from start to finish. Clear communication with school staff ensured that learning could continue uninterrupted while progress stayed on track.

Collaboration with Other Trades

As with all of our projects, success at Bridgeport came down to collaboration. Our team worked closely with electricians, plumbers, and other specialty trades to sequence work efficiently, adapt to changing needs, and maintain open lines of communication. That flexibility helped keep the project running smoothly, on schedule, and within budget — hallmarks of the MZ Construction approach.

Results & Partnership

The finished spaces now provide a clean, functional, and durable environment for both staff and students. This project marked our first collaboration with Diamond and Thiel, and the relationship has already led to additional work — including ceiling repairs at West Hill School. We’re proud of the trust built through this partnership and look forward to many more successful projects ahead.
